So, I was diagnosed with TMJ a couple of months back, and today I got the splint that I will need to wear for lord knows how long. I am getting an excess of drool and I cannot talk without sounding like my mouth is full of marbles. He says I'll learn to talk around it, but fucking HELL I sound stupid right now. Personally, I think the world conspired with him to shut me up. >_< Stupid splint. I hope my jaw learns to behave QUICKLY.

Today is daquari and horror movie day with my friend :D (hee--almost typed "fiend"--which would have been true if talking about me >:E) We have the Friday the 13 reboot (yay Padalecki!) and The Uninvited. I've seen the reboot but not the other.

I'm wanting that daquari now though XD

Wow...so after nearly six years, the second printed Literotica anthology has finally arrived!

Better late than never! And there I am, and six years later I'm greatly embarrassed by my then-chosen pen name XD

I've already gotten anthology-related feedback too:

"I read your story "Troll Bridge" in the Literotica Collection: it was like finding Tolkein's "The Hobbit" new again! (Iam really old an knew Tolkein at Oxford when I was at college with Kingsley Amis).

I thought your story was excellent and so a I searcehd for others. Please keep writing your tales are so joyful.
Best Wishes
Old Uncle John"

A pause while Thistle tantrums:

*AHEM* )

So I'm trying to keep my calorie intake to 1600 calories and 30g of fat a day.

...ONE Taco Bueno burrito = 604 calories and 29g of fat.

I. HAD. TWO.

FOR BREAKFAST.

Because I had no milk for cereal and had to stop on the way into work. Oh, I got up at 4:45 AM and worked out this morning at the gym, but fat lot of good that does when you go load up on over half the day's calories and completely blow your fat intake in ONE GO. I seriously cannot be trusted with myself, can I? I obviously need a fucking keeper!

Well, double workout after work this evening, yes? >:|

I'm looking at a trip next year. This year [info]klgaffney introduced me to the Wicked Faire (or as the website states now--The Wicked Winter Mad Tea Party Renaissance Faire) in NJ, and now I really, reeeeeally want to go. :| Especially now that it has "mad tea party" in the title.

So for the past week I've tried to do two workouts a day: one before I go to work, and one after I get home. I have to get up at ten till five for the first one, which gives me enough time to get up, get dressed, walk to the workout room, do a 30-minute workout on treadmill and elliptical, get back, shower, eat breakfast, and chill for about half an hour before I have to leave for work. My mornings are kind of set. :D

This morning I woke up to lightning, and I paused, nearly going back to sleep. But I checked outside and it wasn't raining. But there was still the chance...and then she woke up.

Bonnie: Dooo eeeeet.

Me: What if it starts raining while I'm over there? You KNOW I hate getting rain on me.

Bonnie: You gotta shower anyway. Get over there!

So I get dressed and start heading over to the room, sky lighting up every five seconds...

Me: It's going to rain!

Bonnie: No no, I've got it covered. You go on.

So I get there, start my workout, and sure enough it starts raining.

Bonnie: Ignore it, ignore it...pump those chubby legs! Move it move it move it!

Me: God, you're annoying in drill sergeant mode. 9_9

I finish up, step outside expecting to get soaked and...no rain.

Me: Cool!

I get back to my apartment, lock the door, and suddenly hear this roaring sound. I look outside and there are SHEETS of rain falling.

Me: ....

Bonnie: I told you I had it covered. ^__^ Now go shower, you smell. >:|

...I walked right into that one

A guy I work with has people. Seriously. If he needs his hair cut, nails done, massage--whatever. He has people to do that. He likes to rub my face in it, too. So he just walked by...

C: Did *coworker* come by and tell you about that spa package? Hair, nails, massage, all kinds of stuff. *laughs* I told her I have people for that! And thought about you. :D

T: *face* Okay, you suck.

C: I have people for *that*! :D :D :D

T: ...*facepalm*

I got ANOTHER new toy today.

So my scales broke. No, that's not my fault. They were old scales, and the digital readout gave up the ghost. So I needed new ones and set off this morning to the World of Wal to fetch a new one. And bought this.

I also need new shoes. I don't think I'm getting really great support from the ones I currently have, but now I really don't have the money for a good pair. But in the off chance I might, who makes a good athletic shoe? I'm not even sure what kind I need. Right now I'm only speed-walking, but I'd like to think I'll make it to jogging eventually. So running shoes maybe?

...I think I overdid lunch. I decided to let myself slide and now I'm all "UUUUUuuuugh. Nap plz"

OMG! Hairless baby kangeroo! The poor dear is a mix of fug and adorable. Fugorable? I'd cuddle it.

I may end up cutting my hair off in a month or so. It all depends on what I hear from the doctor Friday. It's gone incredibly frizzy and dry, and if it weren't for my nails also splitting if you so much as look at them, I'd think it was hair dryer issues. But I think this is more fallout from the whole no-thyroid mess, and it might be easier just to cut it off.

...I want to keep my bangs though. Maybe I'll get [info]kgaffney's hair. Looong bangs, incredibly short everywhere else. :D I wonder if it'd pass corporate muster?

I splurged on a new toy today. :D I meant to go into Target purely to see if they sold Finesse products still (they don't--I don't think anyone does anymore) and pick up a sweatband for this morning's workout, and instead I walked out with the sweatband, a pair of scissors, Herbal Essence shampoo+conditioner, and a heart monitor watch.

I am so obsessed with my heart rate now XD I have it at the touch of a button! It also has a calorie function that shows how many I've burned in a given time period. I don't really trust it, but it's fun to pretend.

My heart rate is 85 BPM right now. I love this thing. It even tells time, so I have a new watch as well! Hurrah!

Does this mean I'm serious?

...I just bought oat bran.

OAT. BRAN.

I don't even like regular oats! And now I've bought BRAN?

There is a simple explanation for it. I'm still on my weight loss kick, and lots of people seem to agree that fiber helps your metabolism. The oat bran had the higher amount of dietary fiber. Frankly, after losing my thyroid I need all the help I can get. But oat bran. *shudder* I bet I won't be able to eat it without making it into muffins first. XD

This is a neat little webpage. I've heard all these facts several times, and now here they are in one convenient little page. Anyone ever heard any Snopes mythbusting on any of these, or are they pretty legit?

But I've also gotten back from working out, and now I'm beat. I think I shall sit in bed and stare blankly at the wall for a bit. Ta!

So now that my 100 Prompt Challenge is done, it's time for another (shorter) game.

Pick one of the 100 drabbles (the number will help greatly) and I'll try and expand it into a proper story. I'll take the first...oooooh...three comments. :D

WOOHOO! I IS DONE!

Okay, so it wasn't done in 10 consecutive days, but I did come back and finish it. I deserve pie. Or ice cream. Or BOTH.

Also? I will NEVER DO THIS AGAIN.

Holy SHIT, people. I just found a $300 credit on my credit card from the hospital. It seems they decided to just refund some credits from last year's surgery. EEEE!

And last night I watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno and finally saw Jason Mewes' penis, so all in all I'm having a good week so far. :D

If you're an active journal, let me hear you say "YO!"

(Idle curiousity, really. I'm friended by all these people, and I look, and most haven't been touched in two or more years. Also, I'm updating my flist :D)

...okay, so more like Day 37 or something, but you get the idea. Trying to finish up the drabble challenge. Only ten left, so it'd be rather sad if I didn't.

I think I did one extra. I've done 16 (purple) twice, and I can't find any of the teens I've missed. I'll check again after I'm completely done. >_<

My dad wonders why I just don't go to law school. I told him because in court, it's basically a debate session, and I never did so well in debate in school. Frankly, it always comes down to "No, YOU" and "That's what your mom said."

So my brother got ahold of his lawyer friend, and now I'm wondering if paralegal work is really for me. From my brother:

"He said that good people skills was also a must, because the paralegals often deal directly with the clients during the "discovery" (preparation) phase, as the lawyers can charge the clients less for their time than for lawyer time, and so keep it affordable."

...oh GOD. WHAT people skills? It's not exactly social anxiety, not really. I do fine in casual situations. However, I don't do well with stressed people taking their shit out on me, and depending on the kind of law I'd end up in, it's likely. But I could probably get past that. It's the second part that gets me.

"He said that paralegals, like lawyers, often end up working long hours with little notice -- as much as 60+ hours in some weeks, if they work for a high-profile firm with important cases. The judges set deadlines for preparation to get done and don't care how that impacts the staff's personal schedules -- it just has to get done."

I know I don't have much of a social life anyway, but that's a death knell. I could never plan a trip again. No buying plane tickets months in advance, any vacation would be the drop-of-the hat kind. Again, this might depend on the type of law I ended up in. If I stayed away from criminal and family court, it might not be as rampant.

SO glad I didn't go ahead with that school now. I need SO much more thought on this matter.
